Abstract:
There is a strong need for an integrated emergency response service in India. ERS project was developed, on the lines of E911 in USA, Canada, etc, for service across A.P. It is planned to cover about 80 Million people, spread across A.P. state in 2 years. Scalable, reliable and extensible architecture enabled provision of service across the state. Service comprises of Medical, Police and Fire emergencies under one roof, on the lines of E911. More than 1500 critical lives are saved in about 8 months. It is hoped that this project will be rolled across India in 5 years. Emergency Management and Research Institute (www.emri.in) is a non profit society formed on public-private-partnership model. In this talk we will explore how technology can be used in Emergency Situations.
