Abstract:
We are trying to encompass all knowledge and not just softwarecreate, using appropriate 'contents' licenseing a la Creative Commons. In software, we plan to concentrate on application stack rather than on system software. The ambition is to create a very large, visible, and active Indian OSS community, primarily using the final year BE project students (over 2,50,000 per year exist in CS/IT/ELX in over 1700 colleges in India), along with mentors and coordinators from amongst industry professionals, academic community (faculty, RS, senior M Tech students, etc.) as the starting point.
