CS774: Course Policies

Assessment

The assessment of students taking this course will be performed on the basis of performance in various components of the course.

• 25%: Assignments (may include programming tasks)

• 25%: End-semester examination

• 15%: Mid-semester examination

• 20%: Term project (can be reading or implementation based)

• 15%: Scribing lecture notes for one lecture or one paper review

Noteworthy point

• Lecture notes would have to be prepared in LaTeX using style files that would be provided to all students.

• Obtaining (near) publishable results in the project may get you a straight A!

Use of Unfair Means

The use of unfair means by any student would be severely punished. The following document would be referred to while deciding the penalty imposed.

Auditing the Course

If you are a student at IIT Kanpur and interested in auditing this course, please send an email to the instructor. We will welcome you in our course and include you in the course mailing list and other course activities.

Noteworthy points

• Only students enrolled at IIT Kanpur can currently audit this course. Others may please mail the instructor for clarifications.

• Approval for audits would be given after due consideration of logistical and academic constraints.

• No changes in timetable or venue would ordinarily be possible to accommodate auditors.
