Smartcard based Attendance System has been deployed in department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kanpur for Post-graduate Students. These Students mark attendance with their smartcards alongwith the fingerprint verification. They can mark attendance anytime acccording to their convenience between 08:00 am and 04:00 pm.

The marked attendance can be viewed on the LAN through Office Automation site. The attendance administrator has also been provided with a software to manage the attendance records. The system has been running successfully in the department since July 2006.
