The following results were generated by incorporating the shooting RBFN into the client with a memory model. Note : In some images, the face direction of the shooting player in red (the red half) is incorrectly oriented. This is because the player has turned after shooting the ball.
In these figures, the red circle is the shooting player, the yellow circles
are the opponent team players and the white blob is the ball which was
close to the red player a few time cycles before the snapshot before the
kick was executed.
Fig 1: Shooting on an empty goal |
Fig 2: Shooting with the goalie in one corner |
Fig 3: Shooting with a goalie at centre of goal |
Fig 4: Shooting with three opponents (some outside field of view) |
Fig 5: Shooting with an opponent outside field of view but far from goal |
Fig 6: Shooting with an opponent outside field of view but closer to goal. Note that the shot is further to the top. |
Note that figures 4, 5 and 6 involve significant use of the memory model and would have failed without some sort of extrapolation outside the field of view.
