Alpha-Shape is a generalization of the Convex hull of a point set.

• It's easy to model surface boundaries with arbitrary topologies, using alpha-shapes.
  
  
• A method based on alpha-shapes is applicable to wide variety of situations, and we do not need any data supplementary to the sampled data points.
  
  
• We can handle anisotropically sampled data points very well.
